Expect to run from 40 mins to 1 hour 15 mins depending upon our target pace and location.
Along the River Mersey run
This is a good run south of the city on a flat course, through a mixture of streets and urban parks. We’ll be running along the banks of the Mersey with views over to the Wirral and the Welsh hills beyond. The river embankment is a linear park with a good running surface, and a turnaround point where a new urban park is on the site of the 1984 International Garden Festival. The wind tends to blow up-river – so just to say, the way back is usually steelier than the way out…
Liverpool FC and Everton FC Football Grounds run
The football grounds are around 5km out of the city centre so this is an ideal distance to head out to see two of England’s most famous Premier League clubs. Everton ridge rises to around 60m so you’ll face a bit of a slog uphill, particularly in the final section so bear that in mind! Run the terraced streets which are transformed by thousands on matchdays at Goodison Park, see the imposing stands and poignant memorials at Anfield. On the way back be rewarded with incredible views over the city.
