Sunday 29th March 2015 and a rainy start to the 22nd Liverpool Half Marathon at 9am. Heading back home after 9 miles and the weather was still pretty grim as you can see (above left with hat!) but with no wind the last four miles along the Mersey from Otterspool promenade were flat and fast for a very wet 1h 28′ 52″.
The last section of the course follows my route for the Along the River Mersey Run and ends in the dramatic setting of the Pier Head adjacent to the new Museum of Liverpool and Port of Liverpool building. No time to look at the view however as with London Marathon now just four weeks away it meant a further soaking as I then needed to run back home to the south of the city to get a 20 miler in – phew!
